In fact, the battery life is just as good as its predecessor, despite the higher capacity. Xiaomi services like Mi Video and Music send a decent number of notifications over the course of the day, and it gets real annoying very fast. It’s fun, but it also suffers from over-sharpening and is little more than a novelty you’ll probably rarely use. The images turn out quite sharp and manage to retain a good amount of detail. The screen itself is larger than the one on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, with the phone now featuring a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel. I’d suggest heading to a store where you can try it out for yourself. The Night Mode in the camera lets you digitally zoom in by 2X but doesn’t let you use the wide-angle lens. Night mode makes the images unnaturally bright for my liking, even without the flash. Like most other Android phones, it also has Google Assistant. However, the images look sharp enough and are very much usable on social media. Add to these the number of ads and unnecessary alerts that the UI throws in your face all day, and you end up with an unpleasant user experience. The curved glass back of the Halo White variant looks extremely elegant and makes the phone look a lot more premium than its price tag would suggest.
