Pressure treated wood (NOT 'treated' as one video mistakenly uses) is dimensionally stable at 5.5" x 5.5". It's a great cover. This is a quality product that is reasonably priced, except maybe extra hardware. Quality product, well packaged with quick delivery time. My deck looks great! Does any one know of anyplace i can buy the alternative of the Grid Trio(they are selling $207/2 pieces($100/each), i need 4: I already found the alternative for the base: which is $15 ezbase from home depot while they sell similar one for $200/for 4. I wish they made T's and straight connectors I had those fabricated. We used every type of 6x6 and 2x6 brackets to build a 10x24 pergola. I will buy again and recommend this product. It could not be easier as far as assembly and the quality of the shade cloth is exactly what I hoped for. Would be helpful to include some written instructions.

We have had many compliments on it and have given out information to others who are looking into purchasing. You need a small army to assemble to get all 4 corners aligned and into the brackets, 6x6 are not light. The company is easy to deal with and responsive - we needed to return an unwanted part.
The assembly seems intuitive except they intend for you to only put screws in half the wholes as a decorative grid. I used Douglass fir 4x4x8 on the rise timber and 4x10 cedar post. Wood fit easily into the product. Great company and fast customer service response. It was easy to build but it cost me a lot of beer with friends to lift up the system as advertised...extremely heavy. It would be nice if it came with an ikea style instruction manual. Very happy with my Toja grid. Doesn't include anchoring hardware. It was extremely easy to put up. Easy ordering and fast delivery to the US, less than a week to Washington state. Customer service was responsive sending detailed drawings so I could plan my pergola accordingly. And provides nice airy shelter. I would highly recommend this product to any person that needs to reduce the sun beating down on an area where you would like to be. The Grid has changed the usefulness of my south facing deck in Vermont. Your product also allowed me to customize the size I needed for my deck which was a big plus. Had a few issues with the hammock kit, but they resolved it right away.We are very happy with them!
We used the 6x6’s and had a tough time standing the sides up.

Spend a little time though sanding the ends of your posts/beams so they slide into the system smoothly. Love the look of it.

Sanded down the beams with a palm electric sander and stained them with Murphy’s timber oil, mahogany. I would have really struggled without the Toja Grid system. Certainly for the price I don’t think it’s a good value compared to other bracket options. As a person with not a lot of tools, putting together the pergola took some planning. I used Douglass fir 4x4x8 on the rise timber and 4x10 cedar post. Brackets are made of high quality steel with top notch welds. But 4x4 posts are not always standard and the ones from my local Lowe’s in the US would not fit. You're essentially buying a bunch of metal fittings, which are extremely well made.

All in all I'm very impressed with the Toja Grid Pergola Kit, and highly recommend it! We love our new Toja! Now nothing is perfect and I did not give it 5 stars. I have been emailing and calling Toja Grid to get a replacement shade for over a month and Lucy keeps giving me the run-around statement that due to social distancing they are experiencing delays... for a month now! Our systems are made in Canada.

As for sturdiness these can't be beat. I am doubtful that I will receive my order.Toja Grid should not be taking orders directly from the public as they obviously have no ability to manage the process. The system was easy to install. I installed mine on top of my concrete patio and I could not find any instructional videos for that process. My only concern is the finish on the brackets. The black caps for the screws worked great and really makes for a finished look. Awesome products to use if your closing in a deck.
